Palo Alto Networks to Acquire CyberArk in $25 Billion Deal

July 30, 2025 - Palo Alto Networks announced Wednesday its plans to acquire identity security firm CyberArk for $25 billion in a combination of cash and stock. The acquisition marks the cybersecurity heavyweight's strategic move into the identity management sector, according to a company press release.

Since Nikesh Arora assumed the roles of CEO and chairman in 2018, Palo Alto Networks has aggressively pursued acquisitions, with the Financial Times reporting over $7 billion spent on deals under his leadership. The CyberArk acquisition now stands as the company's largest investment to date.

Among its recent purchases, Palo Alto acquired Dig Security for approximately $400 million in October 2023, Talon Cyber Security for an estimated $625 million in November 2023, and Bridgecrew for $156 million in February 2021.

This transaction is one of the most significant cybersecurity deals of 2025, second only to Google’s $32 billion acquisition of Wiz in March.

Palo Alto Networks has yet to issue further comments on the deal.
